Taïga Leather is Louis Vuitton’s ravenously rich, deep grained leather, named after the largest coniferous forest in Russia - the Taïga. Part of Louis Vuitton's stable for an impressive number of years and for good reason; sophisticated and discreet it is beautiful in texture and tone and far more hardy than most of its counterparts. This Tobol is in LV’s Gris Ardoise, a deep granite black, a stunning and rather unusual hue, off-set perfectly by glowing brushed silver tone engraved hardware. This is a substantial piece, an impressive size - and features an interior split into three compartments with an additional zippered sleeve, mobile pocket and side pocket, lined in soft tonal calfskin leather throughout with Taïga accents. The exterior features a back slip pocket and two front slip pockets, lined in tonal raw hide. A rare opportunity to own a classic Vuitton briefcase that is no longer available from LV. Taiga Leather in beautiful condition, only very lightest signs of wear on closer inspection, one fine line marking across back exterior (photo 10). Corners free of scuffs and marks, handle free of patina, interior shows indentation marks, fine lines, light wrinkling and small markings throughout, some relaxing around top edging surround, hardware glowing with only finest markings.
