Hermès Gavroche Scarf | Brides de Gala

$0.00 NZD
This stunning iconic design by artist Hugo Grygkar was originally issued in 1957 and has been reissued ever since - a true classic of Hermès and a piece that is highly coveted by collectors. A gorgeous colour way and adorned with two bridles decorated with the emblazoned fastenings that adorned horse-drawn carriages. There are three classic sizes for Hermès carrés, and this the Gavroche pocket size, or "pochette" scarf, an ideal size to tie to the handle of your favourite tote, as a neck scarf or hair accessory. All Hermès scarves are hand-printed from the finest silk, using multiple silk screens. It takes a studio of 20 freelance designers about 2 years to complete a Hermès scarf from design concept, engraving and printing to the hand finishing process. Every scarf tells a unique story, every scarf has its own name and each is hemmed toward the front; Émile-Maurice Hermès once said that his scarves were so beautiful that even the backs had to be seen.
